Typically, sealing is needed to provide a water block where the wire bundle passes through a moulded rubber boot into the back of a connector, or at a grommet between a wet and dry area, such as the engine to passenger compartment. Ideally, this seal should not add significantly to the overall diameter of the bundle, allowing easy po- sitioning of grommets and other components during the harness assembly.
